Thriving in Transition

1. TRANSITION REQUIRES FAITHFULNESS IN SMALL PLACES
“Why do you look so worried today?” (Genesis 40:7 NLT)
“If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones.” (Luke 16:10 NLT)
“So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.” (Galatians 6:9 NLT)
2. TRANSITION OFTEN INCLUDES UNCOMFORTABLE WAITING
“Pharaoh’s chief cup-bearer, however, forgot all about Joseph, never giving him another thought.” (Genesis 40:23 NLT)
“Two full years later, Pharaoh dreamed…” (Genesis 41:1 NLT)
“But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles.” (Isaiah 40:31 NLT)
“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” (Psalm 27:14 NLT)
3. TRANSITION OPENS DOORS WE CANNOT FORCE
“Then Pharaoh sent for Joseph, and he was quickly brought from the prison.” (Genesis 41:14 NLT)
“It is beyond my power to do this,” Joseph replied. “But God can tell you what it means and set you at ease.” (Genesis 41:16 NLT)
“Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up in honor.” (James 4:10 NLT)
Write this letter to the angel of the church in Philadelphia. This is the message from the one who is holy and true, the one who has the key of David. What he opens, no one can close; and what he closes, no one can open (Revelation 3:7 NLT)
Christ is also the head of the church, which is his body. He is the beginning, supreme over all who rise from the dead. So he is first in everything. (Colossians 1:18 NLT)
4. TRANSITION IS ABOUT PREPARATION FOR IMPACT
“And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.” (2 Corinthians 9:8 NLT)
“You know the saying, ‘Four months between planting and harvest.’ But I say, wake up and look around. The fields are already ripe for harvest.” (John 4:35 NLT)
NEXT STEPS
1. Stay Faithful and Engaged — Don’t Pull Back
“So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.” (1 Corinthians 15:58 NLT)
2. Protect Unity at All Costs
“Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love.” (Ephesians 4:2 NLT)
“Look after each other so that none of you fails to receive the grace of God. Watch out that no poisonous root of bitterness grows up to trouble you, corrupting many.” (Hebrews 12:15 NLT)
3. Trust the Timing — Even If It Feels Slow
“Two full years later, Pharaoh dreamed…” (Genesis 41:1 NLT)
“This vision is for a future time. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed.” (Habakkuk 2:3 NLT)
4. Choose Humility Over Personal Preference
“It is beyond my power to do this,” Joseph replied. “But God can tell you what it means and set you at ease.” (Genesis 41:16 NLT)
“Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up in honor.” (James 4:10 NLT)
5. Prepare for Harvest — This Transition Has a Mission
“He said to his disciples, “The harvest is great, but the workers are few” (Matthew 9:37 NLT)
“For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.” (Isaiah 43:19 NLT)
“Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means ‘rock’), and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it.” (Matthew 16:18 NLT)
“Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up in honor.” (James 4:10 NLT)
“ He said to his disciples, “The harvest is great, but the workers are few.” (Matthew 9:37 NLT)
“So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up”. (Galatians 6:9 NLT)
“Christ is also the head of the church, which is his body. He is the beginning, supreme over all who rise from the dead. So he is first in everything.” (Colossians 1:18 NLT)
.“God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished.” (Philippians 1:6 NLT)
“If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9 NLT)
“Anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” (2 Corinthians 5:17 NLT)
